Temecula, a charming and picturesque town, is just 45 minutes away.  The town is known for its historical charm, beautiful climate and, of course, award-winning wines.

Wine is very important to Temecula, so much so that they hold a festival to celebrate their love for it - the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, running from June 1st to the 3rd this year.  The town’s wine country is open year round though, with vineyards located in the rolling hills providing expansive vistas of the SoCal terrain. Here you can let your inner sommelier out while sampling some of the greatest wines the region has to offer.

After a morning of wine tasting, consider spending the afternoon at one of the many local golf courses. And if you’re into outdoor activities, take a hike through the hills surrounding the Diamond Valley reservoir. Those traveling with children should stop at Penny Pickles Children’s Museum where they’ll learn about time traveling and famous inventors as well as take part in hands-on scientific activities. Then finish off the evening with a performance at the Old Town Community Theater. Check their schedule to see full variety of shows available.
